Why is teasing so common among children?
children are often troubled by what don’t understand. Perhaps it is someone of a different customs, or someone with a handicap, or merely a child will is interested in quite different thing. Their first response may to be tease that child because they cannot cope with something out of the norm. However, once they get used to the child the teasing should stop. Where it continues and becomes malicious, it is usually as a result of insecurity. By teasing and undermining someone else, they hope to direct attention away from their own inadequacies, and bolster up their own position.
Is it all right to tease someone who makes joke against himself?
making jokes against oneself is often a defense against being hurt bu other people. People often develop it an an early age to cope with teasing. For example, fat people may always be joking about their size. But this does not mean they do not mind about being overweight. They may really find teasing very upsetting. What you say yourself and what others say, event if identical, can sound very different. It is often the same with jokes about race. If you belong to a certain race you may feel you are entitled to make jokes or characteristics. However, you may resent it bitterly when an outsider joins in or, indeed, initiates the teasing.
